Biography:

Ms. Hartigan was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.  She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences from Illinois State University.  She later earned her Master's Degree in Science Education Grades K-8.

Prior to moving to Hamilton County, Ms. Hartigan spent 11 years teaching in the Valley View School District, serving the Chicago suburbs of Bolingbrook and Romeoville.

After teaching middle school for 10 years and high school for 3 years, Ms. Hartigan is BEYOND EXCITED to work with staff and students in the role of Library Media Specialist!  She believes that middle school is a period of magnificent transformation and enjoys the celebrations and challenges that come with working with middle school students.

Ms. Hartigan moved to Chattanooga in the summer of 2018 and continues to enjoy experiencing the new adventures that this part of the country has to offer.  She is a lifelong learner who has been known to attend lectures and take classes for fun.  She has a passion for teaching and LOVES sharing her knowledge with everyone who will listen!  When she is not at work, Ms. Hartigan enjoys reading, hiking, playing board games, traveling, and making arts and crafts.
