I am a Tennessee native, growing up in neighboring Bradley County. I attended both Lee University and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga before obtaining a degree in Middle Grades Education.  This is my second year teaching English/Language Arts at Ooltewah Middle and my second year in the glorious 7th grade. I have a three-year-old little girl named Scarlett who is the light of my world. I am so excited for the new adventures this year is sure to bring!

Supplies Needed:

2 Composition Books (100 Pages)
Two Pocket Folder

Supplies Required for Class Each Day:

Composition Book
Independent Reading Book
Grammar Warm-Up
Homework Expectations:

Students are expected to read their independent reading books for 30 minutes a night.

Also, beginning in September, students will be given a homework sheet for the week. The assignment will be given out on Monday and will be due back on Friday.
Reading and Writing are such important aspects of our every day lives, that I expect and require students to read independently and writing about various topics every single day. Our class begins the moment students set their feet in the door with a warm up practicing grammar skills and then silent reading for 10 minutes. Daily writes will be completed before the lesson for the day is even taught. These daily writes can be found in student notebooks.
