My name is Lisa Gossett and this is my 8th year teaching art at OMS!  I am originally from Pennsylvania but have called TN home for the past 12 years.  I have a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design and a Masters in Secondary Education.  I enjoy my extra time here at school helping coach OMS Boys soccer.  I am happily married and enjoy spending my free time with our dog Daisy!

My classes include two 8th grade high school credit classes, two 7th grade classes that will switch semesters and two 6th grade classes that will switch quarterly.  Classes take a hands on approach with multiple different projects and assessments.  Students are asked to purchase a sketch book for notes and weekly drawings.  Students rarely have homework unless they do not utilize their time in class and need to bring a project home to finish.  They are required in each grade level to have a weekly drawing due every Friday to practice their drawing skills in their sketchbooks.  Drawings can be of student choice but must be 45 minutes worth of work.  Students may get time in class some weeks but if not will have to complete this on their own time.

Supplies: Sketchbook

Late Work:  Late Work will only be accepted for 3 days past the due date and students lose a percentage of credit for every day that it is late.

Students who are absent can see me when they come back and I will provide all make up work.  Students who were absent on the day an assignment was given have 5 school days to turn in the work for full credit.
